Our multidisciplinary team brings expertise and experience to every project. We work exclusively with the most skilled and dedicated architects, engineers, crafts people, and suppliers in the industry. Everyone involved in our projects, from project managers to contractors, is focused on delivering quality results, on time and on budget, through our signature hands-on approach and attention to detail.
Our Founder
Michael Mazzarello
Born into the industry, Michael spent his early years immersed in the trades under the mentorship of his family. Inspired by his family’s tradition of entrepreneurship, he went on to study at Carleton University where he completed a Bachelor of Commerce, and later completed a construction engineering technician diploma at Algonquin College.
During his studies, he spent his summers working at construction and development companies where he further developed his skills. After graduation, Michael worked at Prestige Design and Construction as a project manager and estimator where he built on his natural management skills and gained invaluable experience in the industry working on both residential and commercial projects.
In 2021, Michael launched RELM Builders and began an exciting new chapter in his career as an entrepreneur and independent builder. Michael’s passion for building can be seen and felt in the quality of his work.

Who We Are
At RELM Builders we build structures with care and craftsmanship. We’re an award winning Ottawa-based builder specializing in custom structures, including homes, commercial buildings, and remodeling.
Before the launch of RELM Builders, Chello Building Corporation operated in the Ottawa community as a family-run builder with generations of experience as a sister company of Prestige Design and Construction. From 2016 until 2021, the second generation of the family fully managed Chello Building Corporation, where they pivoted to constructing more residential buildings with a focus on energy efficiency, new building technologies, and innovation.
RELM Builders is now independent of Chello Building Corporation and Prestige Design and Construction. Under the leadership of founder Michael Mazzarello, RELM Builders is pushing the envelope of custom tight, energy-efficient structures.
